Read through Proverbs in 31 days, Today's reading is entitled "Follow the Bright Path of Righteousness"  Read Proverbs 4 - Now that you have read the fourth chapter, are you feeling a bit of remorse over the relationship with your own father? You may feel blessed that parental relationships were healthy and devoid of any major conflict as you were growing into adulthood. In both of these cases, God understands and supports you as His own child. He understands after you have rebelled and are now ready to return to Him as the prodigal son did in Luke 15. You even have the right to believe that you have done too many things to be forgiven followed by a true death bed confession and invitation. God forgives even the Adolph…

Shelter From The Storm – Isaiah 32:2

Inspiration
Today's scripture Each one will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land. Isaiah 32:2 Our Storms This is September 15, 2018 and we have survived another hurricane in the Carolinas. In my scheduled reading, started over 18 months ago, Isaiah 32 and 33 were the scriptures for today. Isaiah was a prophet with many words of bad news for God's people. Among those discouraging words of doom that man's free will has brought about, there are great encouragements. Although Isaiah was a prophet and recipient of God's omniscience, he had no idea how his words could provide comfort 2,700 years later. Did God know that yesterday…

Highly Stressed Or Highly Blessed

Highly Stressed Or Highly Blessed

Inspiration
That is the question On my ride home yesterday this question kept going through my mind. Most people that you encounter during the day ask how you are doing. Sometimes you will hear the answer "blessed and highly favored." For Christians, this is a highly accurate answer. Is it always the way we feel, though? The response that was bouncing around is "highly stressed but blessed." The emphasis on stress in today's society is prevalent in many jobs. We are all under pressure to work faster and more efficiently in order to provide for ourselves and our families. Yes, most of us are highly stressed, but shouldn't we move the emphasis to highly blessed? If your focus is on the great things God has provided for you, it is easier…
