CreateSpace – Designing Your Own Cover

In a previous post about publishing through CreateSpace, I mentioned how easy it is to design a cover using their Cover Creator tool. The only problem that I have found is when you have a full-sized cover already designed, perhaps for an Ebook, and that has the book name and author name already blended in. You can hide many elements using their tool, but I could not find a template that would let me hide the title. The next option was their cover template which gives you a pre-formatted template based on the number of pages in your document. You can design your own cover, but should you always do so? Compare the two covers above, and decide this for yourself. The cover on the left is one that I had created after purchasing the graphic that was desired for this book. I was working with someone through Fiverr and the process was going a little slowly, so I tried my hand at creating a cover. Why Are Taxes So High? Common Sense Could Save Taxpayers!

I don't like the tendency to call people stupid, but this one definitely fits. While riding to work this past week, a thought occurred to me as I saw police cars and officers sitting at the road closed signs of various streets. If society were not too stupid to use common sense, maybe we could save taxpayers some money. How is that? The road is flooded. Where there used to be a low-lying road, there is now a river due to a drenching hurricane. Our tax dollars have already paid the highway workers to come out, probably during the worst of the storm, to put out the road closed barriers. This makes some sense, I guess.
